About the Workshop
Films for Good is a pioneering, inspiring and collaborative weekend workshop that aims to connect filmmakers with third-sector partners to enable them to help them create real impact around their social issue documentary films.

The Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation and Working Films have designed the weekend workshop in London to create effective strategic outreach campaigns for up to 10 of the most ambitious documentary projects nearing completion.

“A truly refreshing weekend and something I have been seeking for many years”
“Deep thanks for an inspiring few days”

- Films for Good 2008 attendees

“Thank you so much. It was a great weekend, a great initiative and very helpful for any filmmaker. The speakers and facilitators are top class and know so much about the subject. Thank You”
"Really great weekend – helped with confidence, focus and ideas for the film”
- Films for Good 2010 attendees

The workshop is designed to help filmmakers:

•  Identify potential strategic partners (i.e. charities, NGO’s and brands)
•  Develop an audience engagement plan
•  Devise press strategies
•  Raise awareness of the issues
•  Form an outreach strategy specific to your film
•  Leverage and extend the life of your film

Each project will leave the workshop with an outline of activities and proposed partners appropriate for pre-release, release and post-release to give your film a long and impactful life.

Who Should Apply?
All filmmaker and producer teams in the U.K. who are making films around social issues are encouraged to apply for the weekend workshop. Priority will be given to films at the rough-cut stage, but we will also include one or two at different stages of production, though some rushes must be available on all submissions.

Of the films submitted, we will shortlist a maximum of 10 filmmaking teams for places in this years course. (Last year was highly competitive with 70 projects submitted from award winning filmmakers and new talent alike.)

Films that already have commercial or third-sector partners involved will be of key interest and those partners will also be invited to join in the brainstorming sessions. Deadline to apply has passed.
