Jubilee House Community and The Alabama Center for Rural Organizing and Systemic Solutions – Across are stoked to officially announce our upcoming Fall film series called “The Ground We Share.”
This will be multi-community environmental film series that will serve to further the work of solidarity being done across race, place, and history between the Town of Parrish and the town of Camp Hill.
We will screen three films (The Wild Robot, The Beasts of the Southern Wilds, and Godzilla Minus One) in each community respectively, and will accompany each film with shorter mini-environmental documentaries that are specifically tailored to each Town’s context.
From the sharecropper soil of Camp Hill to the coal-stained hills and hollers of Parrish, our communities are rooted in stories of struggle, strength, and survival. The Ground We Share is more than a film series, it’s a space to come together, break bread, share stories, and dream of something better.
The evenings will be packed with fun films, good food, and honest conversation about what it means to care for the places we call home.
